I felt awkward going to see a plastic surgeon. I had never considered that type of surgery before. I felt like I wanted to wear a hoodie walking in. Dr. Adams made me feel immediately comfortable during our consultation. I’d always struggled with a double chin, and I thought I needed a whole facelift, but he told me that three other procedures combined would be enough.
I guess my ego didn’t want to let people know I had had plastic surgery. Other than the people who I told, no one asked me if I’d had work done. They asked if I lost weight, if I’d been out in the sun, been exercising.
I was better than ecstatic with the results. I have a significantly firmer jawline. No more turkey neck. Wrinkles are gone. I don’t have that sleepy look in my eyes anymore; there’s more of a twinkle. I looked in the mirror and said ‘Holy crap, I have blue eyes.’ I’d forgotten I had blue eyes. This was something I was doing for myself, not for everyone else, and the impact was extremely positive. I can look at that guy in the mirror again.
I enjoyed getting to know Dr. Adams. When we talked, it was not a sales pitch: ‘We’ll I’m afraid we’re going to have to do this, this and this and you’ll have to buy these products,’ and it would cost me four or five years salary. It was about making the right decision for me.
